Quantum Proxy Switcher Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Quantum Proxy Switcher extension for Google Chrome ("Extension"), published by Quantum Services LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), handles your data. The Extension lets you save proxy lists, choose one proxy, and route your Chrome profile through it. Our use of data on www.quantumproxies.net and in the Quantum Proxies dashboard is covered by our general Privacy Policy.

In short: everything you enter stays on your device. The Extension has no analytics or tracking, does not read the pages you visit, and never sends your browsing activity to us or anyone else.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

The Extension stores the following in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. This data is not synced to other devices and is never sent to us:

  • Proxy lists: the list names and proxy lines you enter or generate (host, port, username, and password);
  • Settings: your selected proxy, on/off state, which sites use the proxy, auto-rotate and auto-failover preferences;
  • Quantum API key: only if you connect your Quantum Proxies account.

Temporary status information (whether the current proxy works, its exit country, and recent proxy errors) is kept in memory only and is cleared when Chrome closes.

2. Data That Leaves Your Device

The Extension only makes the following network requests:

  • To the proxy server you selected: your traffic, as with any proxy. The proxy's username and password are sent to that proxy server only, and only when it asks for authentication;
  • Proxy check: one request through the selected proxy to http://www.gstatic.com/generate_204, Google's empty connectivity-check page, when a proxy is selected, turned on, or re-checked. It carries no personal data or cookies;
  • Exit location: if the check succeeds, one request through the proxy to https://ipinfo.io/json to show the country the proxy exits from. ipinfo.io sees the proxy's IP address, not yours. See the ipinfo.io privacy policy;
  • Quantum Proxies API: only if you connect your account. Your API key is sent to https://production.quantumproxies.net to list your plans and data balance and to generate proxies. These requests go directly, not through the selected proxy, so we see your IP address, just as when you use our dashboard.

The Extension contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code, and loads no remote code.

3. Browsing Activity

The Extension needs access to your web requests for two purposes only: to answer the proxy server's login request with the credentials you saved, and to detect when a page fails to load because of the proxy so it can show an error. It does not read page contents, does not record the sites you visit, and does not send any browsing data anywhere.

4. Changes to Chrome Settings

  • Proxy settings: the Extension sets Chrome's proxy to the proxy you select, or to a direct connection when you turn it off;
  • WebRTC: while a proxy is on, the Extension stops WebRTC traffic from bypassing the proxy, so websites cannot see your real IP address through it. The setting is released when you turn the proxy off;
  • Saved proxy logins: when you switch proxies, the Extension asks Chrome to forget its saved login for the proxy server's own address, so the new proxy session is used. Cookies and data of the websites you visit are not touched.

5. Data Sharing

We do not receive, sell, rent, or transfer any data from the Extension, other than the Quantum Proxies API requests described above when you choose to connect your account. The use of information received through the Extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

6. Deleting Your Data

  • Delete a proxy list from the Lists tab to remove it;
  • Click Disconnect in the Account tab to delete your API key;
  • Uninstalling the Extension deletes all of its stored data.

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

If an update to the Extension changes how it handles data, we will update this policy and the date at the top of this page before the update is released.
